Since 1984, Christians in and around Newbury have been interested in working in schools and supporting staff in various ways. Eventually the opportunities for input into the school curriculum became too great for these volunteers to accomplish alone.

COINS Trust was formed in 1995 and Scripture Union offered help in setting up the project.

Local churches and individuals were informed about the charity and were asked to give their support to the work. Andy Noble was the first Secondary Schools’ Worker. Tonia Matthews succeeded him.  In 1999 Jacquie Gardner and Esther Grisenthwaite were appointed to work in Primary Schools.

The trust currently has an expanding team of workers led & managed by Tania Wolak.  We cooperate with Youth Workers and Volunteers from local churches. Local schools welcome visitors from across the denominations in all sorts of roles!
